I haven't been to the Craft Classroom for awhile.
It was my first visit since Chinese New Year last night. However, my teacher told me something unbelievable. She said that some of my student from last semester asked for special discount upon purchase. They said that I told them they will get discount if they mentioned my name.
Is it due to the generation gap? From my point of view, "getting discount" meaning that my craft teacher will give it on her free will. It doesn't mean that my student(s) can force her to give discount. Nobody will get rich for selling yarn, especially for selling those yarns that are already in discount or really cheap ones. Suddenly I do not know whether I should told my students to buy yarns from my craft teacher's store.
Giving and taking should be based on free will, not by force. It is not right when my student(s) asked for MORE discount, but the discount was already given. For beginners and amateurs, you may think this ball of yarn looks "the same" as that ball of yarn... but the price of yarn depending on the original materials and manufacturers. If all you care about is the PRICE, I would suggest that you shop around. If you use my name to force my craft teacher to give you a discount, that will make me feel truly uncomfortable.
